ECO AP (5%) Food Industry CP
Description
Eco AP 5 is a sanitizer composed of peracetic acid, hydrogen peroxide, water, and acetic acid. Peracetic acid is a strong oxidizing agent with a higher redox potential than other sanitizers that are oxidizing agents, with the exception of ozone.
Advantages
Antibacterial Characteristics
Part of the effectiveness of Eco AP 5's active ingredient is due to the formation of two free radicals in solution: the peroxyl and hydroxyl radicals. These react with the thiol groups of the cysteine residues in proteins, oxidizing phospholipids and nucleic acids, thus causing cell death. Its benefits as a sanitizer have been reported to include:
*It has a broad spectrum biocide.
*It is fungicidal.
*It is bactericidal.
*It is virucidal.
*It is sporicidal.
*Short contact times.
*Contact times are shorter than other sanitizers.
*It is effective in a temperature range of 25-45°C.
*Reduction of 5 log units at concentrations as low as 40 ppm.
Advantages
- It does not contain volatile acids, so it does not cause respiratory damage in the operators of
production.
- To be applied to floors, walls, utensils and food preparation equipment.
- It can be used in piping systems as it is a foam-free product.
- It does not contain phosphoric or nitric acid, so it does not cause eutrophication problems.
- In 5 minutes, each liter of 0.3% v/v product dissolves 329 ± 2 mg CaCO3.
- Highly concentrated, doses of up to 65 mL per 25 liters of water can be used.
- Its concentration can be monitored by means of conductimetric measurement systems.
How to Use
- Recirculation: It is diluted at a rate of 0.4 – 0.60 mL/L of product and left to recirculate for 10-20 minutes at a temperature between 60-80°C.
- Spray and pressure washing: It is diluted at a rate of 1.0-3.0 mL/L with water. The surface is applied by spraying and left to act for 15 minutes. It is rinsed with water afterwards.
